Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking to you guys about my amazing experience in Chicago but first I’m going to explain to you why I went to Chicago.
On Friday March 15th 2013 my mom and I left to go to Buffalo. I was going to a dance competition that would let me know if I qualify for nationals or not. That year nationals where in Chicago. I danced on the Saturday and I was against other people. How this worked is if you got 1st 2nd or 3rd place then you qualified for nationals. I ended up getting 4th place so I knew that I didn’t qualify. When I went to dance the next week my teacher told me that because I got more then 250 points I qualified.
A month before the trip to Chicago my mom told me that we were going with my best friend Rebecca. We were so excited. Finally the day came. It was early Sunday morning on June 30th when we left for Chicago. It took us almost 13 hours to get there because we would stop to take pictures, get food and use the washroom.
The first 4 days I spent time at the competition supporting my friends then we had Thursday and Friday to do whatever we wanted. On the Thursday my mom, Rebecca, Rebecca’s mom and I decided to go to target and look around Chicago and buy some souvenirs. Target was huge I thought that we were going to get lost. On Friday we spent the day at the pool. Everyone was getting thrown in and we had chicken wars and so much more. Chicago was so pretty and the food there was really good. Everyone was nice and it was an awesome experience.
We also got to see the fireworks because it was the 4th of July. The fireworks lasted for almost 2 hours. Every so often you would hear them from a different spot. We were going to go somewhere to watch them but we realized that we could watch them from our hotel. We went to our friends hotel room and they had a nice overlook of the city. We sat on the patio and watched the fireworks for 20 minutes then we had to go back to our room.
This experience was amazing and it is definitely something that I will never forget. Thank you for reading my blog. I will write to you soon.
